Answers to the volleyball set quiz

4i7,

4 of you didn't manage to complete the quiz, unfortunately. For the 36 of you, answers are out!

1) Where should the ball be when you SET it?

Ans: On top of your head

(Good job, 34 of you got this right! Remember we always said it should NEVER be in front of your face!)

2) What are the cues for setting?

Ans: Chicken wings, triangle window above head, fingertips to set

(Awesome job everyone, all of you got this!)

3) When we set the ball, it must be nice and _________, into the sky?

Ans: High

(Once again, all of you were definitely listening! Well done!)

4) Which part of your body should contact the ball when you SET the ball?

Ans: Fingertips

(Those of you that chose palms, you were careless! Think back to your cues for setting!)

5) Where does the power come from when you perform the volleyball SET?

Ans: Legs

(For the 14 of you that chose legs, well done! The power from the set is exactly like the power from the dig and both skills require power from your legs, remember the pop? This was not mentioned ENOUGH in class but now you know! While your arms seem to do the work, your legs also have to add to the power if you want it to go high!)

Mr Ng will definitely remember to remind you in your next lessons about using the "pop" when you set as well!
